1 - Abbey Sant'antimo
L 'Abbey Sant'Antimo, is located only 9 Km. From the town of Montalcino. According to legend, he was born on the ruins of a chapel built by Charlemagne in 781 A.D. The abbey is a magnificent example of Romanesque Lombard-style French. It built in alabaster and onyx presents an extraordinary apse formed by radial chapels and also capitals decorated with geometric, floral and animal figures. You can attend with Gregorian chants. Magnificent views of the Val d'Orcia

2 - Montalcino in Val d'Orcia
Situated on a hill at 564 m. above sea level, Montalcino has preserved its charm of old medieval village. Its territory, which is part of the Natural and Cultural Park of Val d'Orcia, is covered with vineyards (whose grapes of high quality wines like the famous Brunello), olive trees and woods consisting prevalently of holm oak trees from whose Latin term (Ilex) probably derives the name Montalcino, Mons Ilcinus. The first major permanent presence is linked to the archaeological site of Poggio alla Civitella (on a hill 3 km from Montalcino) with Etruscan ruins of the archaic and Hellenistic period: from the sixth century. B.C. Hill has hosted a village and later a fortress with three defensive circuits, allegedly abandoned during the third century. B.C. Boasting a stunning hillside location with views over the Val d'Orcia, Montalcino
fascinating for its intact medieval appearance. Its land planted with vines, which produce wines now famous throughout the world as the Brunello di Montalcino, is now a destination for many visitors to the native grape lovers. Walking through the narrow streets of the village you can make shopping and tasting of the many wine bars that overlook the course.

3-Bagno Vignoni - the hot springs of the Val d'Orcia
The Amiata view from the pool of Bagno Vignoni, in the background of Val d'Orcia, is one of the most beautiful views of the Siena province. The hot water that flows here is another of the many gifts of the ancient mountains. Bagno Vignoni is a medieval village, although the origin of the spa, such as Bagni San Filippo, is in all probability Etruscan; attests the presence of the Romans kept a plaque inside the current spa (quoted in the epigraph). The history of the village is made up of struggles, massacres and murders, like that of all the castles in the area: Fierce was the clash between the Salimbeni and Siena for the possession of the place, as the other strongholds of the Val d'Orcia. In 1600 the bathroom was granted by the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Ferdinand II the Amerighi family. It was they who let build the first inns for swimmers: there is still one called Lion. Finally, in 1676, the property passed to the Chigi, still owners of many parts of the country.
The report states that Simon of Jacomo Tondi sent to the magistrate of Siena in 1334: "In the first place the bath Vignone, so named by Castle near there, is accommodated and surrounded by palaces and taverns and a chapel in the middle. It is of square shape, everything nice, split the source into two parts, with the roof that protects from rain gl'inermi that there inside they bathe; but they are all places to retire, where ascosi and watched men and women can get wet. Take the waters their virtue from iron, from the album and recently copper, with mischianza of gold and silver. Give it to the liver, spleen and stomach, toned down and to all the members that contribute to food. "
The main square is made up of a huge tub of hot and steamy waters, and in winter especially create a magical charm, surrounded by Leonardo landscape around the country. Water has replaced the typical pavement of the Italian piazza. Around the tub, a Renaissance palace, attributed to Bernardo Rossellino, the creator of Pienza another of the Val d'Orcia pearls, leaps from the water like a vision, while the medieval gallery and the small chapel that is inserted are dedicated to Santa Catherine of Siena, who frequented these places. The waters sulfate-bicarbonate-calcium-magnesium, carbogassose, spring from various sources at a temperature of 42 ° C and are particularly suitable for diseases of bones and joints and rheumatic, respiratory and upper respiratory tract, the parts, of skin diseases and female genital, although currently available treatments are directed only to musculoskeletal therapy.
